Abstract
Sandfly fever, also known as Papagia Fever or phlebotomy fever, presents with fever, myalgia, malaise, hematological and hepatic enzymatic abnormalities. Sandfly fever, also known as 3 day fever or febbutomus fever, is classified under the Phlebovirus genus of the Bunyaviridae family. The main vector is phlebotous papatasi, and the carrier is the same as leishmaniasis. The diagnosis is very difficult in non-endemic areas, and when patient history and physical findings are ambiguous.
The disease was prevalent during the period of the imposed war, especially in the southwestern regions of the country. The disease cycle begins in mid-March, and continues until late fever.
